The Health and Safety Executive issue regulations for the exposure of persons to noise at work. The regulations also require that the persons carrying out the investigation are competent within the meaning of the Act. AMS Acoustics has the necessary accreditation. Occupational noise exposure falls into two distinct categories - Industrial and Commercial and Entertainment. AMS Acoustics also provides training and noise awareness lectures to ensure that employers and employees are conversant with the regulations and their implications. Industrial Work Place Noise Assessment Surveys are carried out to determine the noise exposure. In the event that the exposure of employees exceeds the regulations, rostering or noise control measurements can be implemented to reduce exposure to safe levels. Noise Exposure in Places of Entertainment Present-day music levels are such that employees in theatres and discotheques may be exposed to levels above the regulations. AMS Acoustics has considerable experience in dealing with occupational noise in entertainment venues. Surveys are undertaken during which the noise dose of employees at various workstations is determined. If the place of work does have an issue with noise exposure above HSE guidelines, we can assist the employer with the production of a safety case to ensure that all employees are working safely. |
